October Meetup – APIs

The WordPress Meetup is hosted at The House, a co-working space for creative businesses in the centre of Tunbridge Wells.

This month we are going to get a bit technical and talk about web service API’s (Application programming interface) and the new WordPress REST API.

Talks will be given by Meetup organizer Dominic Johnson from Miramedia and Andrew Dixon from mso, a digital agency based in Dartford.

Talk 1: An introduction to web service API’s

In this talk, Dom will cover the basics of what web service API’s are, how they can be used and give an example via a case study.

Talk 2: An absolute beginners guide to the WordPress REST API

In this talk, Andrew will start from the very beginning of what the new WordPress REST API, introduced to WP core in version 4.7, is, how it can be accessed, what it can do and then give some basic examples of it in action.
